Happy Thursday!
Good news – the end of the week is near! I’m very excited for the weekend as I’ll be heading out to visit my alma mater (am I allowed to say that if I only graduated 2 months ago?) and my boyfriend. It’s sure to be a fun visit and I’m excited to see all my college friends again. I’ll be gone for a few days, but I do have some posts planned for during my absence. ๐
Things will be looking snowier than in this picture, I’m sure.
Yesterday, I thoroughly exhausted myself in 45 minutes doing some Fitnessblender workouts (it’s blurring together now, but think burpees, bicep curls, squats, tricep dips, bentover rows, and side hip raises…) These videos have seriously been my savior with toning back the running!
In the afternoon, my mom and I headed out to do some errands, and picked up a new set of 4 lb weights. We’d been doing our best to make do with sets of 2 lb, 8 lb, and a single 5 lb weight, but figured having another light dumbbell would be helpful for some of the exercises we’ve been doing (lateral front raises with 8 lbs are painful! and probably not a great idea.)
We also got some resistance bands to use for some hip strengthening exercises from the latest issue of Runner’s World. We’re building quite a nice home gym! ๐
Make sure to check in tomorrow for another Friday Five post! (it’s a good one, if I do say so myself.)
P.S., remember how I said I really enjoyed Katy Perry’s dancing sharks? Apparently, a lot of people did. Check out this buzzfeed article, Katy Perry’s Sharks were the Best Part of the Super Bowl. and remember, “we are all dancing sharks in the sea of life.”
Do you have a home gym? Have you ever used resistance bands?
